Brazilian goalkeeper Bento has confirmed that an offer from Inter ‘has arrived’ and ‘is in the hands of the president’ of Athletico Paranaense.

The Nerazzurri are still working to find the replacements for departed shot stoppers Andre Onana and Samir Handanovic, and are in the closing stages of welcoming Bayern Munich’s Yann Sommer.

Another key target was Anatoliy Trubin but Inter are unlikely to make a move this summer as Shakhtar Donetsk want around €20m for the 22-year-old. Benfica are pushing to close out a deal for the Ukrainian, pushing the Nerazzurri to look elsewhere.

Speaking to Transamerica Radio via Calciomercato.com, Athletico Paranaense goalkeeper Bento was asked about a possible offer from Inter.

“Yes, it has arrived. I’ve already talked about it with the management. It’s my dream, and it’s in the hands of the president.”

Athletico Paranaense value the 24-year-old, who is contracted until December 2026, at around €9m, an accessible price for the Nerazzurri. Last month, Juventus were also linked with the Brazilian goalkeeper.

Another key factor is that Bento holds an Italian passport, so wouldn’t take up a non-EU player slot in the Inter squad.
