Free agent Nabil Bentaleb has arrived for his Genoa medical, set to complete a move to the Marassi on a one-year deal.

The Algerian midfielder is, according to Sky Sport Italia, carrying out his medical examinations with the Rossoblu today.

He will then sign a one-year contract with the Grifone, with an option for a second year with Davide Ballardini’s team.

His brother was present at the Marassi for the Coppa Italia game against Perugia, when the Rossoblu started the campaign with a 3-2 thriller at home, and the player himself is now ready to start a new experience in Italy after he was released by Schalke 04.

The 26-year-old started his career at Tottenham Hotspur in England and joined the Germans, initially on loan, in August 2016.

He has since spent time on loan at Newcastle too but appeared 107 times in total for Die Konigsblauen and contributed 12 goals and eight assists in the German Bundesliga.
