The Bianconeri were paired with the Bundesliga winners in this morning’s Last 16 draw, one of the toughest ties they could have been handed.

“It’ll be a great game,” Allegri predicted, speaking to reporters at an AIC event.

“It’ll be a stellar challenge. We’ll do all we can to create the conditions to get to the next round. If we win, we’ll be one of the candidates for the final.

“If we lose we’ll concentrate on the League. We’ll see where we are in February and March. It will be a great test of where the team is.

“Arturo Vidal? He did great things for us. As for Kingsley Coman, he’s young and is doing well in a different League from Italy.

“If he’s at Bayern, it’s thanks to Juve.”

Allegri also discussed the Scudetto race, and the Coppa Italia clash with Torino on Wednesday.

“We’re going through a good period, and we want to finish the year as well as possible.

“I said from the beginning that Inter are the favourites for the Scudetto, because they don’t have Europe, they have a top Coach [Roberto Mancini] and they’ve bought great players.

“There’s still a long way to go, we’ll take it a step at a time. The lads are on the right path, and we still have some room for improvement.

“Toro? It’s a difficult game, we care about it a lot because our goal is to remain in all three competitions.”
