“There’s huge disappointment,” Matri told Sky after the final whistle.

“It was a game we dominated from start to finish. We did well to get ourselves ahead, but luck wasn’t on our side.

“We have to give something more, what we did today was not enough. We can only rediscover our confidence with results.”

On as a substitute, Matri went wild celebrating his goal, interpreted in some quarters as a message to Coach Stefano Pioli.

“There’s no controversy, this is not the time to argue. I’m here to play and help the team. We all want to play, but the Coach makes the decisions.”
