Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni admitted the Nerazzurri would have ‘enjoyed the Scudetto even more’ if the fans were present last season.
The new season starts with a home game against Genoa on Saturday and Bastoni spoke to the Matchday Programme ahead of the first match.
The young defender said winning the League last term was ‘fantastic’ and relived the scenes outside San Siro after securing the trophy.
But the 2020-21 season was played behind closed doors due to the coronavirus protocol, something that will make the start of the new campaign even more special for Inter.
“Winning the Scudetto was fantastic,” Bastoni said. “We would have enjoyed it even more with the public.
“But in the moments outside San Siro, they showed us all their love and affection.”
