Antonio Conte subbed him in three minutes before the final whistle in Inter’s 3-1 win over Bologna on Saturday.
“Eriksen walked straight inside the dressing room without celebrating the victory,” Balzaretti, who is now a DAZN pundit, said after the game.
“It’s a good sign, if you are angry, it means you have not given up. It’s not something bad after all, it means something burns inside you and you can do more.
“I don’t consider these kind of gestures as negative things.”
Balzaretti played 221 Serie A games as a footballer. He played for Varese, Siena, Torino, Juventus, Fiorentina, Palermo and Roma.
He has 16 caps to his name with Italy national team.
