The striker has been linked with Roma, Napoli and even Parma, with his contract at Nice expiring at the end of this month.

“I told him how good it is to play here,” Criscito told RMC Sport after his Grifone presentation this afternoon.

“We joked about it, but I don’t think he’ll be back in Italy. I don’t know what his choice will be, but he earns a lot and not many can afford him, I don’t think.”

Criscito also commented on Mattia Perin, who will move to Juventus and be replaced by Federico Marchetti in Liguria.

“We’re losing a great goalkeeper in Perin. Despite his injuries, Mattia is among the best in the world. He’s impressed me in the national team.

“I shared a World Cup with Federico, he wants to show what he can do and do well at Genoa.”
