Adana Demirspor have announced that Italy international Mario Balotelli tested positive for COVID-19 while on vacation in Brescia.

The striker was back in Italy over the festivities and took a test before flying back to Turkey.

However, he tested positive for COVID-19 and will remain at his home in Italy in self-isolation.

The statement from Adana Demirspor notes Balotelli felt ‘symptoms’ of the Coronavirus before taking his test.

It is not known if the 31-year-old is vaccinated or not.

He posted a message on Instagram Stories today, which read: ‘Even strong people need a cuddle.’

Balotelli has rediscovered this scoring touch in Turkey, finding the net eight times in 20 competitive games so far this season, along with providing four assists for his teammates.

His former clubs include Monza, Brescia, Olympique Marseille, Nice, Liverpool, Milan, Inter and Manchester City.

The coach of Adana Demirspor is former Fiorentina and Milan boss Vincenzo Montella.
