Former Italy midfielder Giancarlo Antognoni does not believe Mario Balotelli is ready for an Azzurri return.

The Milan forward had been tipped for Antonio Conte’s latest squad before picking up an injury, but the CT admitted that he wouldn’t have selected the striker, even if he had been available.

“He’s come back well, but Conte is right,” 1982 World Cup-winner Antognoni told La Repubblica.
