Fiorentina’s Matias Vecino expects a “tough” game against Napoli, who tried to sign him this summer.

Serie A’s two form sides face off when the League resumes after the international break, with the Viola leading Serie A for the first time since 1999.

Serie A’s two form sides face off when the League resumes after the international break, with the Viola leading Serie A for the first time since 1999.

“It will be a tough game because they play good football and have very good players,” Vecino explained to CalcioNapoli24.

“Then there’s the Coach [Maurizio] Sarri, who I’m sure will prepare every detail of the match as usual. He’s someone who studies the opponent through-and-through, and it will be difficult for us.

“We too are in a good period, and we have a Coach [Paulo] Sousa who prepares for every game at the maximum.”

Vecino spent last season playing under Sarri, during his loan spell at Empoli, and admits interest from the Partenopei this summer.

“There was some interest from them, but I never really thought about it. Of course, it’s nice to be apprectiated, but my only thought was and is playing for Fiorentina.”
