Mario Balotelli has insisted that he just wants to focus on the World Cup, not his own personal future.

The Milan striker has been heavily linked with a switch to Arsenal this summer, but the goalscorer has claimed that he is only thinking about the game against Costa Rica on Friday.

The Milan striker has been heavily linked with a switch to Arsenal this summer, but the goalscorer has claimed that he is only thinking about the game against Costa Rica on Friday.

“I am only thinking about the World Cup,” he told a Press conference. “What comes next, we’ll just have to see.

“I don’t know anything.

“We have been watching videos and know that Costa Rica are a good team. We have to respect them and give 200 per cent on the pitch.

“I just want to play in this World Cup and score as many goals as possible. But the important thing is that we win tomorrow and go forward.

“We all know that Costa Rica are a good team, so we’re not surprised by their win against Uruguay.”

The former Manchester City man then refused to comment on his marriage proposal just prior to the tournament.

“That has nothing to do with the World Cup.”

The Rossoneri striker was also adamant that he wanted to contribute to a winning Azzurri team, not score goals for himself.

“I hope this is Italy’s World Cup, not Mario’s. I want to supply the team with goals but I don’t care about being the star of the tournament.

“I want to be in a winning team, it’s as simple as that.

“I want to win the World Cup, not be a star. Of course, it’s every players dream to be up for the Player of the Tournament or Ballon d’Or, but right now that’s not on my mind."
