Milan Coach Pippo Inzaghi says forward Mario Balotelli is different to how people on the outside portray him.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from San Siro this summer, following heavy criticism of his performances last season and during the World Cup.

However, at a Press conference today, his new boss insisted that he will be very happy if Balotelli continues to apply himself in the same way as he has been of late.

“I hope that Balotelli continues to train like that,” Inzaghi said. “Everything that people say about him I haven’t found [to be true], if he continues like this I will be pleased.”

Inzaghi added that he is pleased with the defensive shape shown by his team in their recent friendly win over Chivas, expressing his confidence that Milan will be ready for the new Serie A season.

“The team that concedes the least goals wins the Scudetto but it’s true, we have forwards who can score a goal at any moment.

“I will start with the compactness of the team and I saw that against Chivas. The first matches didn’t depress me and I saw the positives even in defeat.

“However, it would be delusional to think we don’t need to work. At Milanello we will recover and reach the best condition possible.”
