The Coach replaced Ivan Juric in November, on a contract which runs to the end of the season with an option for a further year.
“If the President [Enrico Preziosi] has already decided then meetings won’t help,” Ballardini shrugged, speaking in his Press conference following tonight’s 3-1 win over Verona.

“I’d like to underline the extraordinary season, because we’ve overcome huge difficulties with serious, commitment and quality from everyone, which has been more than extraordinary.
“We came here with Genoa bottom on six points. There was a terrible fixture list, with Crotone on double the points and then Roma and Verona.
“It could have been a meltdown, and instead what you saw was an extraordinary feat.
“Together with these lads – who have suffered a lot and are very close to each other – we went beyond our own egos and achieved this feat.
“There’s no secret; there are men, ideas and talent.
“If the owners are happy and convinced to continue with me, and I’m convinced I can do a good job, then there will be no problems.”
