Director Mauro Baldissoni said Roma “mustn’t make a drama” out of their Champions League predicament.

The Giallorossi would’ve been practically qualified with a win in Moscow, but conceded a last-gasp CSKA equaliser.

“It’s important to have come here playing to win and almost doing so against a strong opponent, as proved by their results against the other teams,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Roma will remain in Russia overnight and fly back to Italy tomorrow morning.

“The fact we controlled the game and had so many chances to win is good. Obviously there are regrets that we conceded that late goal.”

Manchester City beat 10-man Bayern Munich 3-2 this evening, so all three teams are together on five points.

Roma will qualify if they beat City at the Olimpico on December 10, while a 0-0 draw is also valid if CSKA don’t beat Bayern.

“We mustn’t make a drama out of it. Roma are still in the running and can go through with a win on home turf with our fans by our side in the decisive match,” argued Baldissoni.

“It is a very difficult group and at the start there was a great deal of scepticism as to whether Roma would even still be in it at this stage.”

There are other permutations to consider too, as Roma could finish second and progress in the Champions League, third and drop down to the Europa League or fourth and be out of UEFA competition altogether.
