Roma director general Franco Baldini confirmed “there should be some developments” on Daniele De Rossi's contract.

The star midfielder's current deal expires at the end of the season, so he could in theory walk away as a free agent in June.

“We have already had a couple of meetings with De Rossi's agent,” Baldini revealed in today's shareholder's meeting.

“This is one of my priorities and there are other discussions taking place. There should be some developments in the next two weeks.”

Roma are struggling in Serie A after last night's 2-1 defeat to Genoa, though Baldini reassured the shareholders.

“Our project will continue. Roma believe in youngsters and are focused on integrating more of the primavera youth system into the squad.”
