The Colombia international passed his medical and is just waiting for the formalities to complete his €30m transfer from Sevilla.

“I am very happy for this transfer to a big club, one of the best in the world,” Bacca told Il Tiempo newspaper.

“Lately things haven’t gone very well for them, but they have a great project and motivation. I can’t wait to wear the Milan jersey and give my all.”

Bacca was wanted by several different sides, including Roma and Liverpool, but opted for the Rossoneri.

“I started talking to Milan circa two months ago, but the decisive push forward was 10 days go. Adriano Galliani convinced me with the project and his call.

“Now I have another objective in my career – to take Milan back where they belong. Giving my contribution to that is great motivation.

“I will be in Milan on July 20, because we leave for a tour of China on July 21. I will wear shirt number 70, as it was my first number and always brought me luck.

“It was a difficult decision to leave Sevilla, but Milan have a project and great faith they can take the team back to where they belong.

“I want to contribute to that. It’s another challenge in my life. At Sevilla I would’ve played in the Champions League and I leave many friends behind, both in the locker room and outside of it. Director of sport Monchi helped me so much and I am grateful to him.

“From the first day I arrived in Seville, he encouraged me. I hope to embrace him again in a few days in Spain, because he was wonderful to me.”
