Multiple sources in Italy reported that Ausilio travelled to London this morning for face-to-face talks with three Premier League clubs.

The director of sport returned to Milan late this evening and spoke to several reporters who waited for him at the airport.

“There’s no news, no developments,” said Ausilio.

“We have faith in our squad and the work Inter are doing. If we then have the opportunity to improve the current squad, then we’ll do so.”

Eriksen is also wanted by Paris Saint-Germain, but has seemingly already agreed personal terms with Inter, while the club is edging closer to the €20m Tottenham Hotspur asking price.

They had hoped to reach an agreement for €15m plus performance-related bonuses and add-ons, as the Denmark international’s contract with Spurs expires in June.

However, Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio insists Tottenham are refusing to lower the €20m figure.

As for Giroud, he too is in the final months of his Chelsea contract and is likely to move for €4m plus €1m bonuses, having rejected all other offers so that he can reunite with Antonio Conte at San Siro.

Sky Sport Italia claim Giroud eventually agreed a €500,000 per season pay cut in order to push the move through, as Chelsea want €5m plus €1m add-ons.

Manchester United’s Ashley Young is still on the cards too, despite the arrival of Leonardo Spinazzola in a straight swap with Matteo Politano to Roma, because Valentino Lazaro could leave with proposals from West Ham United and Werder Bremen.

The Politano deal has been delayed by 24 hours because Conte wants Spinazzola to have extra fitness tests on top of the usual medical tomorrow morning.
