The Belgian took his medical with the Nerazzurri today and was at the club’s headquarters to sign his contract, but it appears an official announcement will have to wait until tomorrow.

“We’re talking about someone who is clearly a top player, very important,” Ausilio told reporters as he left the Inter HQ.

“When it’s official tomorrow we’ll say something more. We talked to the lad with [Coach Luciano] Spalletti, as well as about the strategies from here to the end.

“Malcom? It’s a very normal situation, he plays for another team and when a player belongs to another team you have to follow bit-by-bit and see if there are any developments.

“As for Moussa Dembélé, you [the media] always come up with a lot of names but we need two or three reinforcements, no more than that. If we listened to you we’d already have signed 30.

“Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic will stay to play in the Champions League.”

There’s also the issue of captain Mauro Icardi, who has a €110m release clause in his contract…

“He has a three-year contract, and then we’ve never hid that there’s a chance to sit down and think about making some adjustments to that contract.

“That’s how it’ll be, but right now we’re defining things that have different deadlines, but calmly we’ll also deal with Icardi’s contract.”
