Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Milan forward Nikola Kalinic.

The Croatian has endured a frustrating season for both club and country. Having signed from Fiorentina on an initial loan deal last summer, he scored just six goals in his first year with the Rossoneri and fell out with Coach Gennaro Gattuso.

Recently, he was sent home from Croatia’s World Cup squad after allegedly refusing to come on as a substitute due to injury fears.

Recently, he was sent home from Croatia’s World Cup squad after allegedly refusing to come on as a substitute due to injury fears.

However, Corriere della Sera claims that Diego Simeone is interested in offering the 30-year-old the chance of a fresh start.

According to the Italian daily, the Argentine Coach personally called Milan officials to propose the move, with talks between the clubs now underway.

Corriere also believes that, in the event that Kalinic does leave, the Diavolo could look to sign Lazio’s Ciro Immobile or Monaco’s Radamel Falcao.
