Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in Milan flop Nikola Kalinic, but the Rossoneri want at least €25m.

The Croatian striker joined from Fiorentina on loan with an obligation to buy, with the total value of the deal believed to be around €29m.

The 30-year-old managed just six goals all season though, and he was sent home from the World Cup by Croatia after refusing to come on as a substitute, claiming a back injury.

Now calciomercato.com is reporting that negotiations are underway with Atletico Madrid for a transfer.

Now calciomercato.com is reporting that negotiations are underway with Atletico Madrid for a transfer.

Given that the Rossoneri took Kalinic on a €4m loan last season, they are looking to recoup the €25m obligation to buy, as that would see them break even on this year’s balance sheet.

However, Atleti must sell Kevin Gameiro before making a decisive move, and may feel the striker’s value has dropped after a poor season.

Therefore the two clubs are locked in negotiations, with the possibility of a loan with option or obligation to buy.
