Having missed out on Armando Izzo, Sassuolo reportedly turn to Kevin Bonifazi of Torino.
The Granata are set to sign Izzo in a €10m deal from Genoa, having beaten the Neroverdi to the deal.
His arrival could have a knock-on effect though, with 22-year-old Bonifazi’s playing time reduced even further.
The centre-back made only seven appearances in all competitions last season, and Gianluca Di Marzio’s website reports he could move to Emilia when Izzo arrives.
