Atletico Madrid have reportedly blocked Alessio Cerci’s move to Genoa as they want a guaranteed summer sale.

The former Torino winger has been on loan at Milan this season after failing to make an impression in Spain, but was believed to be very close to a Grifone switch.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport writes today that the Italy international’s move could be blocked by the La Liga outfit.

The former Torino winger has been on loan at Milan this season after failing to make an impression in Spain, but was believed to be very close to a Grifone switch.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport writes today that the Italy international’s move could be blocked by the La Liga outfit.

Atleti are believed to want a guarantee of Cerci’s summer sale rather than a loan, as his contract expires in 2017 and they don’t want to risk losing him for free.

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi’s most likely option is now believed to be an offer of a loan with the obligation to buy attached, but the deal has been stalled.
