“We will honour the match against Juventus and we will act exactly like we did three weeks ago when we were at the Stadio Olimpico,” director general Marino has told reporters this week.
“Before being overwhelmed by Roma, we took to the field to play. The gap in the League between ourselves and Juventus is great, but the impossible can happen in football.
“The controversy between Antonio Conte and Rudi Garcia is typical at the end of a season, but the big gap in the table indicates that Juventus deserve to win this Scudetto.
“And Atalanta? Our European dream faded against Sassuolo, but to get into the Europa League objectively would have been a miracle for us.
“At the beginning of the season I would have signed for a campaign like this and I want to congratulate the team and Colantuono – we have avoided a season finale of suffering.”
Marino was asked for an update on Marko Livaja’s position at the club, following his outbursts against fans of late.
“He is at home [in Croatia] to treat a tendon problem. We know that he was wrong and we had deferred to the arbitration panel for his act of intolerance towards the fans and for his posts on social networks.
“He has apologised, but the process goes on. His future? He is a player in co-ownership with Inter, and we cannot decide for them what to do.
“We will see what will happen during the transfer market.”
