Rosanero President Maurizio Zamparini said earlier this week that the Gunners had made a bid for the 21-year-old, along with Juventus.

However, in a Press conference today, the English side’s manager denied that any offer had been made.

Initial reports that followed were that Alisher Usmanov, who owns 30.04 per cent of Arsenal made a written enquiry to Palermo seeking information about Dybala. However, contact of any kind, formal or informal, has since been denied by Mr Usmanov's holding company Red & White Holdings Limited.

Juventus are believed to be favourites for the Argentinian attacker, although Zamparini’s €40m asking price could prove a stumbling block.
