Arsenal fans and pundits are calling for former Inter coach Antonio Conte to replace Mikel Arteta at the Gunners after a 5-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League.

The tough start to the new campaign continued when Arsenal suffered back-to-back defeats when the Citizens secured a massive 5-0 win at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Arteta’s position at the club is under pressure and on Twitter, fans are calling for Conte’s return to England.

The Italian coach is, according to The Telegraph, one of the candidates the Arsenal board are considering in case Arteta is sacked from the position at the Emirates Stadium.

Conte emerges as potential candidate to replace Arteta at Arsenal

Conte previously told La Gazzetta dello Sport that he enjoys ‘a challenge’ and that the ‘top clubs I coached were never the favourites when I arrived’.

The 52-year-old coach left Inter after securing the Scudetto in 2021-22 and the former Juventus and Italy tactician’s name is now trending on Twitter.

Conte won the Premier League and the FA Cup during his two years with Chelsea in the English capital.

The reports in Italy claimed Conte has signed a clause when leaving the Nerazzurri by mutual consent after 2020-21, barring the coach from signing for another Serie A club in the near future.

  1. Conte has built his whole successful career on solid organization and planning, working in tandem with the club.

I strongly doubt he would take this role without a pre season under his tutelage along with a fast closing transfer window. He wouldn’t be able to mould his team to his likeness even if the challenge may seem presentable.

If he could walk out on Juve within days of the season starting imagine the disassociation with Arsenal if the set up isn’t right. I just can’t see it.

  2. Are they bottom of the Premier League yet? Can’t do worse than that with the most money spent in the League. BEST league 😂😂😂

  3. They reduced to go for Correa, World class player and Champion who can create and came on to win it for Inter scoring a brace after 1 training and 2 days with the team. Arsenal went instead for..the bottle of their history. Never have they lost their 3 opening games with 0 goals scored and 9 conceded.

Conte should grab this, they are realy realy f up, you can do whatever you want there.

  4. Refused * not reduced.

By the way, at the time Inter offered 20mil, so Arsenal could’ve done what they tried with Locatelli but the dummies didn’t know Lotito bad a vendetta with Inzaghi and would’ve sold and justifiedly so to somewhere where Correa wouldn’t prefer over Internazionale. Bloody boards that know shit nowadays.
