Arsenal are still interested in picking up Manuel Locatelli and they’re considering offering Juventus a player in exchange for the Italian, reports suggest.

The 24-year-old midfielder was wanted by the Gunners during the summer of 2021 but he preferred to stay in Italy and wait for the Bianconeri to make a move, instead of accepting the offer from North London. Although Arsenal lost out on Locatelli, they’ve not forgotten the Italian and are seemingly gearing up for a new attempt.

As highlighted by Sport Mediaset, Arsenal want to pick up a new midfielder in January and one of their targets is Locatelli, who is struggling to show his best under Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus.

The Gunners are keen to make a move and are considering offering Albert Sambi Lokonga in an equal exchange for the 24-year-old, giving Locatelli the chance to try out a new adventure in the Premier League.

In a recent ‘chat’ with Corriere della Sera journalist Mario Sconcerti, Allegri suggested that Locatelli wouldn’t be a starter in a fully fit Juventus squad, words that the Italian wouldn’t have been too happy to hear.
