And according to British newspaper the Daily Express, Italian Coach Ancelotti is likely to head both clubs’ lists of possible replacements.

The 58-year-old has been out of work since his sacking by Bayern Munich early on this season.

He was recently spotted at Chelsea’s Champions League last 16 match against Barcelona, where he was a guest of club owner Roman Abramovich.

Ancelotti has already served one spell as Blues boss. In 2010, he guided the Stamford Bridge side to a Premier League and FA Cup double, before being sacked the following summer after a second place finish.

The former Real Madrid and Milan Coach has also been linked with the vacant Italy job, although he recently stated his desire for his next job to be in club football rather than with a national team.
