There are numerous reports that Anzhi directors are in Italy to negotiate with both Wesley Sneijder and Fabio Capello.

The Dagestan club already caused shockwaves in the summer when signing Inter’s Samuel Eto’o to make him the highest-paid football player in the world.

According to Tuttosport, Anzhi emissaries are currently in Milan to hold more talks with the Nerazzurri, this time for Sneijder.

They want to ensure the Dutchman is under lock and key before the end of the season, as Premier League sides like Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal have all shown an interest in the player.

This ties in with other reports over the last couple of days that former England manager Capello is the hot favourite to take over at Anzhi.

While in Milan for talks with Inter and Sneijder, the Anzhi directors are also allegedly meeting with Capello to discuss a potential contract.

Sky Sport Italia pundit Gianni Di Marzio insists this deal could well go through, especially as Anzhi already have Roberto Carlos, who worked with Capello at Real Madrid.

Russian newspapers, meanwhile, suggest Capello is currently in Moscow for advanced talks with Anzhi.

The Russian transfer window does not shut until February 24, so they can continue to buy players during that time.

It is also reported that both Anzhi and Spartak Moscow are battling for Cagliari defender Davide Astori, but the Sardinians have no intention of selling.
