Napoli have already sold over 40,000 tickets for Chelsea, but Christian Maggio begs the fans “need to support us” on Monday against Chievo.

The Stadio San Paolo is fired up for the February 21 first leg of their Champions League showdown and it’s guaranteed to be a sell-out.

“It’s true that our current form isn’t great, but we will be able to overcome it,” said Maggio, who turned 30 this weekend, in an interview with Radio Marte.

“Our fans need to support us. I don’t want to hear jeers, but only applause. We really do need our fans.”

Napoli traditionally have quite a poor record against Chievo, so there are concerns as the Flying Donkeys come to the San Paolo on Monday evening.

“It’s a tough test, but we will be able to get through with the help of our crowd. We’re still in the Champions League and Coppa Italia, while we can recover in Serie A. Nothing is compromised.”
