Napoli midfielder Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa hit back at a fan who accused him of ‘already having his mind on the Africa Cup of Nations’ after the home defeat to Spezia.

The Partenopei plunged from heroes to zeros, as within days of beating Milan 1-0 at San Siro and recapturing second place in the Serie A table, they lost at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona to relegation-threatened Spezia.

It was a Juan Jesus own goal that sealed the result, leaving Napoli seven points adrift of leaders Inter midway through the season.

Anguissa took to Instagram and posted a message to his followers following the setback.

“At times football is cruel and we saw that this evening. We must fight to the end, so let’s stay united because we win together and lose together.

“I wish a happy Christmas to all of you and your families.”

A Napoli fan wrote back, suggesting Cameroon international Anguissa’s focus has already gone from the task at hand.

“Your mind is already on the Africa Cup of Nations, unfortunately for us.”

However, Anguissa would not stand for that and replied in Italian.

“I am not like that, brother.”
