Milan ended 2021 on a high and coach Stefano Pioli confirmed they will make the most of technology over the Christmas holidays. ‘We’ll have training sessions via Zoom.’

Not only because of growing COVID cases, but also the travel and rest required during the break for Christmas, remote or smart working seems to be here to stay.

That’s not just true of office workers or those who are able to communicate from remote locations, but even athletes.

“I was telling the lads that we’ll have training sessions via Zoom on December 27 and 28, then resume together at Milanello on December 30,” Rossoneri coach Pioli told Sky Sport Italia after the 4-2 Serie A victory away to Empoli last night.

While there are no more games in Serie A until January 6, Pioli is sure to keep his players on their toes and fully exercised even during this break.

It is not the first time that Milan had training sessions via Zoom, as many clubs in Italy and abroad sent exercise plans to their squads during the COVID lockdown in 2020.

The Rossoneri will resume that practice on December 27 and 28 to keep them warmed up and ready for the next run of fixtures in Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

  1. I predict a 400% drop in injuries when they are away from Milan Lab. That place seems to be haunted by Marco Van Basten’s bad luck.

  2. Of course there will be less injury when they are on break 🙂 Unless of course they stepped on their kids lego or something…
