André Zambo Anguissa admits he didn’t think twice before joining Napoli from Fulham but is not thinking about a permanent move to the Stadio Maradona.

The 25-year-old has joined the Partenopei on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy for €15m.

He has impressed in his six appearances with the Serie A giants so far this season. Therefore, Napoli are reportedly already considering signing him on a permanent deal from The Cottagers.

“I immediately realised that Naples would be the right choice for me because I immediately felt everyone’s trust, when the proposal arrived, I did not think twice to accept,” the 25-year-old told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“At this moment, I don’t think about the contract. I’m interested in playing: time will tell if I deserve to move here permanently.

“I am very happy to be here in Naples. We will see what happens, but now I think of the field and give my best every time I play.”

Napoli are enjoying a perfect start to their Serie A campaign with six wins from six games. However, they lost their second Europa League group stage game against Spartak Moscow on Thursday and will travel to the Stadio Artemio Franchi to face Fiorentina on Sunday.

“We think one game at a time, only time will tell us what we can achieve,” Anguissa said when asked about Napoli’s Scudetto hopes.

“We will try to beat Fiorentina, I can assure you that. We want redemption, in Florence will be a crucial match against a quality opponent.

“Spalletti told us to focus on the next game, many games are remaining and the qualification is still possible, so we need to remain focused.”

The 25-year-old played 106 games at Fulham before his move to Napoli. He also spent one season on loan at Villareal, where he scored two goals in 39 appearances in 2019-20.
