Aurelio Andreazzoli believes Empoli ‘took a step forward’ against Roma and praises Lorenzo Pellegrini: ‘The ideal midfielder.’

The Tuscans lost 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico with the Italy international who netted the opener in the first half.

“We had created two chances with Bandinelli and Pinamonti, but we lost something when Pinamonti left the pitch with an injury,” Andreazzoli told DAZN.

“We played against a very strong team, I liked my team because we made a step forward in terms of balance, which we only lost when Pellegrini scored.

“I told him [Pellegrini] about how strong he’s become, I am happy because he’s always proved to be a top guy. I’d like to have four players like him in my team. He is the ideal midfielder.
