“I saw good signs. I’ve got a good group and we can do well,” Ancelotti told Napoli’s official website.

“The team has quality. We’re not discovering it now but I like the spirit of the boys very much. They work, but they also enjoy themselves.

“Sometimes you can underestimate certain challenges, but instead I saw great desire to play and show commitment until the end.

“I am happy, I have a great group that allow me to work effortlessly. That is great credit to the team.”

Ancelotti, who succeeded Maurizio Sarri at the end of last season, faces further pre-season assignments against Chievo, Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg in the coming weeks.
