The first of these is the appointment of new footballing directors. Leonardo is heavily tipped to be Milan’s new general manager, with Ivan Gazidis in line to replace Marco Fassone as CEO.
It is also rumoured that Roma director Umberto Gandini could be brought in alongside Gazidis, while a new sporting director must also be appointed.
Elliott’s second and third tasks will revolve around the transfer market.
Although Milan are not favourites to secure the signing of Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus, they are said to be serious on making a late bid to keep the Argentine in Italy rather than move to Chelsea.
Should that fail to come to pass, the Blues’ Alvaro Morata is considered as an alternative.
Elliott will also have to sell players in order to raise funds and free up the club’s wage bill – a tough balancing act considering the Rossoneri’s sixth-place Serie A finish last season and ambitions to do better this coming campaign.
Finally, the Diavolo must come to an agreement with UEFA in order to satisfy Financial Fair Play regulations.
Milanwere recently reinstated to the Europa League after initially receiving a two-year ban from European competition.
However, with their new ownership now in place, they are due to hold talks with European football’s governing body in order to determine how best to avoid falling foul of FFP in future.
