According to reports in France, Carlo Ancelotti has agreed to become the next Coach of Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain.

After the French club’s announcement earlier this week that they had begun negotiations to end current Coach Antoine Kombouaré’s contract, reports immediately linked them with a move for former Juventus, Milan and Chelsea boss Ancelotti.

According now to French capital based publication Le Parisian, it is believed that Ancelotti has agreed to take over at the Parc des Princes from January 1, when he will reportedly formalise details on a two-and-a-half-year contract. If this is the case, Ancelotti will begin work with the players during a scheduled winter break trip to Qatar.

Taking the position at the club currently three points clear at the top of Ligue 1 would reunite the 52-year-old tactician with PSG’s current sporting director Leonardo, after the duo’s time together at Milan.

During the summer, the French team recruited heavily from Serie A, picking up Salvatore Sirigu, Javier Pastore, Jeremy Menez and Mohamed Sissoko in the transfer market. Les Rouge-et-Bleu are currently being linked with moves for Palermo’s Federico Balzaretti and former Milan midfielder David Beckham.
