Carlo Ancelotti believes Juventus “are in the race for the Scudetto”, and praises Roberto Mancini.

The Bianconeri had a difficult start to the season, but have climbed to fifth-place in the table with five wins a row.

“They’re in the race for the Scudetto,” Ancelotti told Mediaset.

“They’ve already returned to being protagonists.

“Allegri and the Ballon d’Or for Coaches? It’s subjective, but for what he did last season he deserved be there.

“Allegri and the Ballon d’Or for Coaches? It’s subjective, but for what he did last season he deserved be there.

“Mancini? For me he’s very good and capable. He plays a dynamic, athletic style of football [with Inter], perhaps with less quality but it takes advantage of the characteristics of the team.”

Ancelotti was dismissed by Real Madrid at the end of last season, and it not surprised by the struggles of his successor Rafa Benitez.

“I regretted my sacking because of the excellent relationship I had with the team, I still had a lot to give.

“But I knew when I signed up to Coach Los Blancos that if I didn’t win I’d be sent away, because that’s the history of the club. It was a risk worth running.

“Benitez? I expected the difficulty, it’s always like that at Real Madrid, you just have to think about winning.

“The fans don’t have patience, nor do the Press or the club, starting with the President [Florentino Perez].”

The tactician has expressed his desire to return to the Premier League, but is backing Jose Mourinho to turn things around at his former club Chelsea.

“A difficult year is never solely down to the Coach. The team perhaps became demotivated after winning, but they’re recovering now.

“Mou remains a top Coach.”
