Milan lost their goalkeeper during the opening minutes when Christian Abbiati accidentally knocked the back of his head on Peter Crouch's elbow, giving him concussion.

Amelia was the substitute and picked the ball out of the net when Aaron Lennon set up Crouch for the 1-0 win at San Siro.

“Tottenham were very good on the counter-attack. The ball happened to fall to Lennon, who is extremely fast,” noted Amelia.

“He skipped past Mario Yepes and from there they were two against one. It's a shame, as we had played a great second half.

“We are upset, but at the same time aware that we're still in this. We will go to White Hart Lane to play our game.

“We'll keep fighting for the Champions League because we care about this competition.”
