Massimo Ambrosini will only discuss a new contract with Milan once the season is over, but his agent confirms that retirement is not an option.

Il Diavolo’s captain will be 35 at the end of May and will have just completed his 17th season with the San Siro outfit.

His current contract is due to expire in the summer, but unlike last year where he expressed unhappiness at having to wait until mid-May to extend for a year, his representative has confirmed this time, he wants to wait.

“We’ll discuss his future with the club only after this season, but the situation is calm,” Moreno Roggi told SportMediaset on Tuesday.

Roggi was then asked if the player would consider retiring, should an offer not come in from the Rossoneri.

“Absolutely not, this is something that is made up. Nor is anything true [with regards links to other clubs, like Genoa].”
