Max Allegri explains his decisions for Juventus in their trip to Verona this evening and notes ‘one week we are treated like Scudetto winners, the other we won’t be in the top four.’

It kicks off at 17.30 GMT at the Stadio Bentegodi.

“Every season is different, even every week is different. One week we are treated like Scudetto winners, the other we won’t be in the top four,” Allegri told Sky Sport Italia.

“Verona are a team that run hard, press all over the pitch, are coming off some negative results, so this is a big test. We need to play with the right attitude for this particular match.”

Despite their dismal start, a win this evening could propel Juventus to third place awaiting Lazio’s match against Monza this evening.

“We must focus on ourselves, one step at a time and getting some sense of consistency, so it’s important to leave Verona this evening with a positive result.”

The injury crisis drags on, but Allegri is finding a certain solidity in midfield with Manuel Locatelli, Adrien Rabiot and Nicolò Fagioli.

“It’s about fitness levels. Di Maria can only play half an hour, Paredes has been out for a while, the game can last up to 100 minutes, so substitutions will be important, just as they were against Inter in the closing stages.”

Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic are out of action, but Moise Kean returns to the squad and the starting XI at the Bentegodi with Arkadiusz Milik.

“Kean is a player who attacks the space and that is very important against Verona.”
