The Rossoneri boss, whose side are two points behind the Bianconeri leaders, was speaking today ahead of Friday evening’s Serie A game at Genoa.
“The last few matches have confirmed what Juventus have already shown this season,” the former Cagliari” data-scaytid=”8″>Cagliari tactician noted.
“It wasn’t easy to come from two goals behind against Napoli on Tuesday and they also won at Lazio last weekend.
“Juve were one of the favourites before the start of the season and they have strengthened their position, but we have reduced the gap between us over recent weeks and we won’t give up.
“Over the last seven games we have won six and drawn one, making up four points. We must always give our best.”
Turning to Friday’s Marassi encounter, Allegri showed Alberto Malesani and his inconsistent Rossoblu respect.
“Malesani’s sides are always well organised,” Allegri noted. “Playing at Genoa is difficult too because they are pushed by their fans’ support and they’ll play with intensity.
“We have to do well and make sure that we have the footballing nastiness that you need to win games like this.”
The Rossoneri have impressed of late, but Allegri is hoping to stop Genoa scoring after conceding 10 goals away from San Siro in five games.
“We have to improve defensively on the road. We managed to keep a clean sheet at Fiorentina, let’s hope we do the same tomorrow.”
Allegri was then inevitably questioned about the possibility that 38-year-old Pippo Inzaghi could leave the club in January.
“He should stay at Milan because I think he’ll find space in the team over the course of the season,” the Coach continued.
“I’m not thinking about selling him in January, but if the player is unhappy… It’ll be something that would have to be evaluated between himself, the club and I.”
