Massimiliano Allegri is pleased with Milan’s fightback against Roma, but feels it’s “impossible” for Thiago Silva to recover against Barcelona.

The defender had a problem in the warm-up, then limped off just 10 minutes into the 2-1 win due to a thigh injury.

“I risked Thiago Silva and that’s how it went. He has a problem on his thigh and I think it’s impossible to have him against Barcelona on Wednesday,” said the Coach.

“We played a good first half today and conceded in the only occasion when Roma came forward. We came on to the field after the break with the real desire to turn things around and we achieved it.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic bagged a brace, converting a penalty and chipping Maarten Stekelenburg to nod into an empty net.

“Ibrahimovic played a great game today. I think he is among the best players in the world. Daniele Bonera is having a wonderful season and is always ready when called upon.”

The Rossoneri ensure their status on top of the Serie A table, but now prepare for the Champions League quarter-final.

“We are playing against the best team in the world. The two alternatives are to defend and go on the counter, which is difficult, or put in the effort all over the pitch the way we did at San Siro.”
