Max Allegri insists “Napoli are the Scudetto favourites for now” despite Juventus earning a 10th consecutive victory.

The Bianconeri crushed Udinese 4-0 in their new stadium and remained one point behind the leaders, but are now two points clear of Inter.

“Napoli are going at a remarkable tempo, so they are the Scudetto favourites for now, but there are still five teams up there who have a chance of winning the title,” Allegri told Mediaset Premium.

“We missed many things in the first half of the season, but I was not worried because we changed so much over the summer. A period of adjustment was only to be expected. We still have a lot of work to do and can improve further.

“We need to work on our physique, but also on the quality of our football and not misplacing so many passes. We are already getting better, but must do more.”

Paulo Dybala scored another two goals today and had a hand in the other two.

“He has improved a great deal, but let’s leave comparisons to one side. He can still do better, as everyone can. I am happy with this squad, as the strength in depth means I can rest players.”

Paul Pogba was left out today due to flu symptoms so he can be fresh for the Coppa Italia quarter-final against Lazio.

“Kwadwo Asamoah is a reliable player with great technique. Unfortunately he had this knee injury that means I can’t use him all the time, but he’s always impressive when called upon.”
