Max Allegri expects a ‘quality’ match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, but warns Juventus that ‘it makes relatively little difference’ between first and second in the Champions League.

The Champions League showdown kicks off at Stamford Bridge at 20.00 GMT.

“We feel good, it’s going to be a great game and we are challenging for first place in the group with the reigning champions of Europe,” Allegri told Sport Mediaset.

“It’s a quick playing surface, so we must be precise and accurate in our passing.”

A draw would be enough for Juventus to secure first place this evening and in theory an easier draw going into the Round of 16, but Allegri warns that is not necessarily how things work out.

“In the Champions League, it makes relatively little difference whether you finish top or second in the group. I think above all this will be a game with a high level of technical quality, then after that we can think about Serie A and Saturday.”

The Bianconeri have the upper hand because they beat Chelsea 1-0 in Turin with a goal from Federico Chiesa, ensuring their 100 per cent record in the Champions League so far this season.

“We are fortunate to be playing in this beautiful stadium and want to focus on the here and now, rather than what might happen in three or four months. We have to focus on the moment.”

  1. Of course it doesn’t matter if they finish 1st or 2nd because they will be eliminated as usual in the knockout stage anyway!
