Juventus CEO Maurizio Arrivabene admits the squad ‘had a wobble’ after Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure, but have regained their confidence as they face Chelsea.

“It is a wonderful sensation to play in this stadium, it gives you goosebumps,” Arrivabene told Sky Sport Italia.

“Fortunately, I am not the one playing and the lads are more accustomed to this sort of atmosphere.”

A draw would be enough this evening for Juventus to secure top spot, as they have a 100 per cent record, including the 1-0 win over Chelsea in Turin decided by a Federico Chiesa strike.

“I think using a calculator in these situations isn’t helpful, we have to go into every game aiming to win. I think the best thing we can aim for is to leave this stadium with our heads held high.

“We have to take it one game at a time, keep our feet on the ground and carry on working hard. Only afterwards should we start to think about Saturday and Serie A.”

Arrivabene also spoke to Juventus TV ahead of kick-off and commented on the news Cristiano Ronaldo has scored again for Manchester United away to Villarreal.

“We started the season with an important player leaving, so there was a momentary wobble. When a player like Cristiano Ronaldo leaves, it’s inevitable that in good and bad ways, he shouldered a lot of responsibility in the squad.

“I think a wobble was natural, but today the players have more confidence in themselves and have taken on their own share of the responsibility, so are progressing in the right way. That must be the team spirit.”
