Juve prevailed 6-5 on penalties against Roma after a 1-1 draw in the final game of their International Champions Cup clash on Sunday, and Allegri singled out the likes of Douglas Costa and Federico Bernardeschi for praise.

“It was a good first half. We’re now preparing for the Supercoppa,” the Coach said after the game.

“It’s the first trophy of the season and we have to win it. It was important to return [to Italy] without any injuries.

“The new faces still have to plug themselves in and get used to our workloads, but I’m happy with the spirit shown by the lads in matches and training.

“It’ll be a difficult and challenging season. It was a good test against a team in the same League as us.

“In the first half, we played well in a technical sense, but we need to improve defensively phase and in terms of condition.

“I like this new Juve and I think we still have room for a lot of improvement on the pitch.”
