Massimiliano Allegri received praise from the Italian press for his work overseeing Juventus’ win over Inter in their Derby d’Italia clash.

The Bianconeri were desperate for a positive result against their rivals following their Champions League elimination earlier in the week, and the team responded in front of their fans at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. Goals from Adrien Rabiot and Nicolo Fagioli secured all three points for Juventus, taking them to 5th in the league table, leapfrogging Inter and Roma

La Gazzetta dello Sport highlighted how Allegri and Juventus managed to find the victory without their star striker, commenting how “without Vlahovic they find their first success against Inzaghi’s Inter.”

Corriere dello Sport had high praise for the Turin outfit, suggesting it was a “Night like a real Juventus. La Signora blossoms in the second half with character, intensity, play, chances and goals.” Allegri was given credit for his tactical setup and usage of substitutions in the match.

Tuttosport detailed how Allegri “won it his way… with a bit of luck”, but also added that “Juventus’ number of league victories continues and – above all – the growth in general self-esteem continues. And of the game.”

Finally, Corriere della Sera drew focus to the strong defensive setup by Allegri and the Bianconeri, saying how “the best defence is beginning to bear fruit.” Juventus have only conceded seven goals in their 13 Serie A games this campaign.
