Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri says the Bianconeri are experiencing ‘something new’ after their points deduction in Serie A and insists Paul Pogba ‘is trying to return as soon as possible.’

The Bianconeri boss spoke to SportMediaset minutes before the kick-off of the Coppa Italia quarter-finals against Lazio at the Allianz Stadium.

“The approach with Monza was good. Right now, we see all negative because of results and external factors, but football gives a chance to react. From tomorrow we’ll think about the league,” said the coach.

The mood is not the best in the black-and-half side of Turin with the Bianconeri who have recently been handed a 15-point deduction in Serie A.

“It’s a new experience for everyone, but it must be lived in the best possible way, trying to give our best. We must show commitment, we owe it to the club, fans and ourselves.”

Pogba sustained a new injury days after his return to the squad list for last Sunday’s game with Monza.

“We are sorry because we thought he would be available during this period to get playing time,” said Allegri.

“It’s not like this but these things happen to players who haven’t played for nine months. It takes patience, he is trying to return as soon as possible. We’ll see in the next few days.”
