Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic start together for the first time in the Juventus jersey, but they have formed a partnership at Fiorentina, even if it only resulted in one goal.

Max Allegri named the pair in his line-up for the Coppa Italia quarter-final against Lazio.

You can follow all the action as it happens from that game on the LIVEBLOG.

When Vlahovic first made the move to Juventus in January 2022, Chiesa had just been ruled out for the rest of the season by a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his knee.

The two players were teammates at Fiorentina before that and the last time they started a match together was also Chiesa’s final appearance in the Viola jersey.

It did not go well for them, as Fiorentina lost 2-1 at home to Sampdoria on October 2, 2020.

Their first union was another defeat, the 4-3 thriller at the Stadio Franchi against Napoli on August 24, 2019.

Curiously, this partnership hasn’t exactly been fruitful, because Chiesa has never assisted a Vlahovic goal.

It did work the other way around, as Vlahovic assisted Chiesa’s goal in the Coppa Italia for Fiorentina against Monza in August 2019, but that is their only combination.
