Juventus stiker Fernando Llorente believes Massimiliano Allegri is as good a Coach as Antonio Conte.

Allegri replaced Conte on the Bianconeri bench this summer, after the latter had guided the Old Lady to three Scudetti in a row, and the Spanish striker believes the new Coach is already making his mark in Turin.

“It wasn’t easy for a new Coach to arrive after all Conte had done,” Llorente reflected in an interview with Tiki Taka.

“However, Allegri is proving to be on the same level as Conte.”

As well as evaluating the Coach, Llorente also had praise for his teammates, and discussed Sunday’s Derby della Mole.

“The Derby was a tough game, but we were able to get the three points. I was on the bench by the end, and we thought it was over, but when you have players like [Andrea] Pirlo on the field anything can happen.

Torino played a great game, they’re one of the most difficult teams we’ve faced this season. They always play well against us.

“Pirlo is a wonderful guy, and as a player it goes without saying that he’s one of the best in his role in the history of football.

“My relationship with [Alvaro] Morata? It’s very good, we’d even like to play a few games up-front together. We’re both Spanish, the relationship is great.

“As for Tevez, I get on very well with him, it’s nice to play with a champion like him who can really make a difference.”

Finally, the big striker discussed the Bianconeri’s aims for the season, reiterating the aim of qualifying for the Last 16 of the Champions League.

“It’ll be a very difficult game against Atletico Madrid,” Llorente said, looking ahead to the clash at Juventus Stadium next week.

“They’re a tough team with a great Coach in Simeone. The goal is to go through, I want to play in the next round.

“Who will win the Scudetto? Hopefully Juventus…”
